COMMENT TO BE ADDED

Yes, this journal is friends only.

It's not that I don't want new friends on eljay, I just don't like random people reading about my life.

If my paranoia hasn't turned you off and you still want to be friends, leave a comment. I am more inclined to add a person as a friend if they've left a comment than if they've just randomly friended me.

Thanks!

My computer may or may not have just died. Sigh.

It's a good thing I'm going home in four days, so my computer guy can give me a prognosis.

I'm coming off a week-long break, only to leave again, but whatevs. It's Indian Wells this weekend, folks, and with Juan Carlos' recent success, he might actually make it into the program book!

[music | Psych Christmas episode]

Delivering Thanksgiving well-wishes two hours before the end of Black Friday is kinda bad, huh?

*backs out slowly*

I've been thinking about paying for extra icon space for a while now, and today I put down the money to get it. It wasn't very much money ($6), but I do feel sort of silly. Oh well.

I've got a TON of icons on my photobucket (~500), but I really do hate to changing them on my journal. This way, with 90 something icons, I won't feel guilty about not using some of my favorites.

Anyone interested in what I have chosen can check my userpics, or wait until I reply ;).

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of viewing a student production of The Laramie Project. It is a play based on reaction to the murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard.

Matthew Shepard was brutally murdered because of hate, pure and simple. But this murder occurred nearly ten years ago. You'd think that society would be able to improve slightly over this period of time, right?

Well, I guess not.

Please, please take the time to read this. I warn you the subject matter is graphic.

More than 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981.

Africa has 12 million AIDS orphans.

At the end of 2006, women accounted for 48% of all adults living with HIV worldwide, and for 59% in sub-Saharan Africa.

Young people (15-24 years old) account for half of all new HIV infections worldwide - around 6,000 become infected with HIV every day.

In developing and transitional countries, 6.8 million people are in immediate need of life-saving AIDS drugs; of these, only 1.65 million are receiving the drugs.
